Before working with Lisa, I felt overwhelmed and unsure where to start, especially as the first in my family to apply to college. She helped me understand each step of the process with patience and support, and she showed me that my background does not limit me. With her guidance, I gained confidence, earned multiple scholarships, and was accepted into a university I once thought was out of reach.

A Parent’s Word

As a freshman, my son talked about wanting to pursue a medical career, but his subject choices didn't align with that goal despite him doing well academically. I was concerned and overwhelmed because I didn't understand how the system worked, and like many parents, my child didn't fully believe me. Lisa came in at the right time. Lisa clearly explained why certain subject choices mattered, confirmed what I was already worried about, and helped us correct the course early. What stood out most was how she built trust with both me and my child. Today, I see my son speaking confidently with counselors, engaging in community service, and understanding how his activities connect to scholarships and future opportunities. I feel informed, supported, and at peace knowing we are finally navigating the system with clarity.

Before working with Lisa, I was lost and unmotivated and didn't even want to apply to college. Writing my personal statement felt impossible, and I didn't believe I was capable. Lisa was direct, honest, and pushed me to do the work even when it was uncomfortable. With her guidance, I gained confidence, applied to college, and was accepted into UT Austin's McCombs School of Business. Coming from where I'm from, that felt impossible at one point, and now it's my reality.

MMERI has helped me accomplish so much in the world of applications and research that I was completely unaware I needed to do before college. Lisa has always kept me on task and ahead of the curve without making the work seem grueling or disinteresting. The 1 on 1 meetings are great opportunities to touch base and ensure I'm doing what I need to, but it's also great to have the ability to text her whenever I have questions.

My experience with MMERI Scholars was incredibly helpful and insightful. I was concerned about my son's transition from elementary to middle school, and this assessment gave me the clarity I needed. While I knew he was doing well academically, I now have a better understanding of his specific areas for growth. I especially appreciated the focus on moving beyond just being “on grade level” to striving for mastery and long-term success. The recommendations were clear, practical, and empowering.

I'm a 9th grader in the MMERI Scholars program, and it's been a really great experience so far. The program helps you learn new things that you don't always cover in school, and it pushes you to think more critically. The mentors are supportive and always willing to help, which makes it easier to stay motivated. I've also improved skills like communication, teamwork, and time management.

MMERI was instrumental in helping my sister gain admission and a full ride. Lisa provided excellent communication throughout the entire process and always kept us informed. She also empowered my sister to take ownership of her journey, which made a huge difference in her success. Our only regret is not starting with MMERI sooner.

I honestly had a great experience with Ms. Lisa through MMERI Scholars. She was very patient and knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything in a way that really made sense for both me and my daughter. What I appreciated most was how personalized her approach was. She really got to know my daughter's strengths and goals and helped turn that into a clear plan, which made the whole process feel a lot less overwhelming.

Before the audit we didn't have a clear path or notion of how to address my child's academics nor their future. Once we had the review, we now have a road map where I can see their future much clearer. No matter your background, economic level, or education, MMERI scholars will get your scholar where they need to be. The future is definitely looking brighter!

I recently attended a free webinar hosted by MMERI Scholars for parents of students in (or heading into) high school, and I'm so glad I did. They broke down the path to college in a way that felt clear, strategic, and actually doable. What used to feel overwhelming and intimidating now feels much more approachable. The webinar was engaging, well-organized, and full of practical insights — not just vague advice.

Exceptional guidance and clarity! The academic audit from MMERI Scholars gave us so much clarity and guidance. The most valuable part was how they identified our specific areas for improvement and gave us clear, actionable recommendations to fix them. Highly recommend!

After meeting with Lisa, we were able to get a clearer picture of what my daughter was doing right, what needed to be corrected, and what she didn't need to waste her precious time on. She narrowed down what my daughter should focus on and helped us create a path to reaching the goals my daughter has set for herself. Overall, Lisa is a great asset and her services and insight are worth every penny.

Lisa did a fantastic job analyzing my son’s academic report and helping us understand his strengths, areas for growth, and possible next steps. Her guidance was thoughtful, thorough, and personalized to his interests and abilities. As an expat family, we have lived in several countries and have no prior experience with the U.S. high school or college system. The process can feel quite overwhelming, but Lisa explained everything clearly and gave us practical direction. After speaking with her, we felt much more informed and confident about supporting our son’s academic journey. We truly appreciate Lisa’s expertise, patience, and genuine care. I would highly recommend her to other families, especially international or expat families navigating the U.S. education system for the first time.

Lisa did fantastic work on behalf of our family putting together an audit of my daughters first two years of High School, and laying a plan for her Junior and Senior years with an aim to ensure she is ready for college admissions. Lisa also helped out with setting expectations which I found very helpful from a parents perspective. I would highly recommend Lisa’s work!
